Skene | Bunnahabhain Peated Malt Whisky
Traditionally a fuel, peat is used in some distilleries for for drying the malted barley to give a distinctive smoky quality. Although a milder versions exist, peated malt has become synonymous with the small Isle of Islay, whose distilleries produce powerful single malts. Distinguished by their coastal locations, the whisky from Islay is smoky, salty and robust, often with a seaweed tang.
Nose: Woodland bonfire smoke
Taste: Burning peat with wood smoke and oak
Finish: Long & smoky
Alcohol: 48% ABV
